Dr. Mohana is our consultant paediatrician with a subspeciality interest in paediatric allergy. In addition to being well-versed in treating general paediatric conditions, managing common newborn conditions, and conducting well checks and vaccinations, Dr Mohana specializes in managing children with allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema, food and drug allergies and urticaria. She conducts specialized allergy diagnostic and management procedures such as skin prick tests for food, drug and respiratory allergies, oral food or drug challenges and sublingual immunotherapy for allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis.
She believes in working with parents to guide and empower them in managing their children’s allergic conditions.
She has experience working in Singapore’spublic and private health care systems. She received her general paediatrics and paediatric allergy sub-speciality training at the National University Hospital (NUH). She then helmed the Parkway East Paediatric Clinic at the Parkway East Hospital as Consultant Paediatrician before starting up Petite Practice in the East. She continues to be a Visiting Consultant at the Paediatric Unit at the National University Hospital. She attends to newborn deliveries and paediatric admissions at Mount Alvernia Hospital, Parkway East Hospital and Thomson Medical Centre.
Dr Mohana graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery and was subsequently conferred a master’s degree in Paediatric Medicine. She has been granted membership in the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (United Kingdom) and is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, College of Paediatrics and Child Health (Singapore). She is a Member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. She has a keen interest in medical education and has received several research grants while working at the National University Hospital. She has been published in international journals such as Paediatric Allergy and Immunology and Asia Pacific Allergy.
