Can my child be admitted to hospital under a Petite Practice paediatrician?
Yes. Selected paediatricians at Petite Practice provide inpatient care at Mount Alvernia Hospital, Thomson Medical Centre and IHH hospitals (including Mount Elizabeth, Mount Elizabeth Novena, Gleneagles and Parkway East hospitals).
If your child requires hospitalisation, one of our admitting paediatricians may arrange admission and continue to personally oversee your child’s medical care throughout their hospital stay, subject to clinical needs and availability. The choice of hospital will depend on your child’s medical needs, bed availability, family preferences and any insurer requirements.
Can I use my child’s hospitalisation insurance for admissions under your doctors?
Our doctors do not work directly with any insurance company panels. However, your child may still be eligible for hospitalisation insurance claims, depending on the terms of your policy.
We recommend checking directly with your insurer before admission to confirm coverage for non-panel specialists, hospitalisation expenses, doctor’s fees and any pre-authorisation requirements.
Do you provide NICU care and admissions for high-risk newborns?
Yes. Dr Lee Le Ye provides neonatal intensive care (NICU) services and inpatient care for high-risk newborns, including premature babies and infants requiring specialised monitoring or treatment.
Dr Lee works closely with the hospital’s neonatal and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, individualised care for newborns requiring additional medical support.
What should I do if my child needs an urgent hospital review or admission outside of office hours?
For urgent medical concerns, parents may bring their child to the Urgent Care Centre at the respective hospitals where our doctors practise.
The hospital team can assess your child and contact our doctors for further review or admission arrangements, where appropriate and subject to doctor availability. You can request for our doctors to be called in whenever your child requires an admission or urgent review.
For life-threatening emergencies, please seek immediate emergency medical assistance.
Will my child continue to be cared for by Petite Practice after hospital discharge?
Yes. At Petite Practice, we believe in providing seamless continuity of care from hospital to home.
Following discharge, our doctors can arrange follow-up consultations to monitor your child’s recovery, review medications and address any ongoing health concerns.
For children who have been admitted to public hospitals, such as KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) or National University Hospital (NUH), our doctors can also access relevant medical information through Singapore’s shared National Electronic Health Record (NEHR) system, where available. This allows us to better understand your child’s hospital treatment and provide informed, coordinated follow-up care.
For newborns requiring specialised care, we also offer ongoing medical and developmental follow-up as appropriate, supporting their health and growth beyond the hospital stay.
What are the expected costs of
hospital admission?
Hospitalisation costs vary depending on the hospital, room type, length of stay, investigations, treatments and specialist care required.
Your hospital bill will generally include hospital charges and professional fees for medical care.
As our admitting paediatricians are not on insurance panels, we recommend checking with your insurer regarding coverage for non-panel doctors, including any co-payment, deductible or pre-authorisation requirements.
Can my newborn be reviewed by a
Petite Practice paediatrician after delivery?
Our paediatricians who provide newborn hospital care may be available to assess your baby following delivery, depending on the hospital and doctor’s availability.
For newborns requiring more specialised attention, Dr Lee Le Ye also provides neonatal intensive care and management of high-risk infants, including babies requiring NICU admission.
